Release Notes: The most important new feature is the cross-site file replication with auto-failover. The new replication works with mutable files, so files can be read and written. The client supports full metadata caching.
Release Notes: MRC database backups are now asynchronous, meaning that database dumps are created in the background. An experimental Hadoop file system driver for XtreemFS was added. A new GRID SSL mode was added, in which SSL is used for authentication only, and data is transferred via plain TCP for a better performance. Vivaldi-based replica selection and placement was implemented. MRC and OSD wait and retry for a configurable time span if they cannot reach the DIR on startup. File copying of files with 'cp' was made faster by providing correct values for "st_blksize" with "getattr". A Web-based admin console was added.
Release Notes: New features in this release include POSIX advisory locks (e.g. fcntl locks), global inode/dev numbers (e.g. for dovecot, tar), and on-close replication. Replicas can now be automatically created when a file is closed after having been written the first time. This causes the file to become read-only. A new "hostname" property was implemented in the server configurations. gridmap-file user identification was added.
Release Notes: This release supports read-only replication with failover, data center replica maps, parallel reads and writes, and a native Windows client, among other new features.
Release Notes: Client performance was significantly increased. OSD checksums were added. Data can now be internally checksummed by an OSD. Scrubber and cleanup tools were added for system maintenance. The first experimental distribution of a Win32 client was released.
