Release Notes: This release includes a new logo, new hacks: starwars and stonerview, smoothing of the ball in stairs, the ability to add newly-added screenhacks to .xscreensaver automatically if there are any found in the app-defaults file, rewritten Screensaver Options section in the control panel, the ability to change DPMS settings in the options, a fix for some Makefile problems with non-GL builds, detection of MesaGL version 3.3, a better workaround to Red Hat 7.0's broken gcc, and a new Sparc Solaris kernel panic to the bsod hack.
Release Notes: This release adds a diagnostic dialog when xscreensaver-demo is unable to launch xscreensaver (e.g., when running as root), better error handling when there are no suitable GL visuals, the new hacks "zoom" and "whirlwindwarp", "-verbose" output that includes information about which server extensions were supported at compile time, updated default delays on the GL hacks that look better on machines with super-fast 3D hardware, and a workaround for Red Hat 7.0's broken gcc 2.96. A free-memory-reference bug in "sonar" and a bug that caused screenhack argument changes to be ignored when xscreensaver-demo was running as root (if "root" and "nobody" have different home directories) have been fixed. The programs now default to ":0" if $DISPLAY is unset. Install "screensaver-properties-capplet" to work around the usual egregious GNOME lossage.
Release Notes: ``enabled'' checkboxes have been added to the list of hacks in xscreensaver-demo to make it easier to see which modes are turned on. The new hacks hyperball, xrayswarm, and gflux have been added. Also, new versions of nerverot, galaxy, and hypercube were added. Some small fixes were made to phosphor, shadebobs, xflame, and sonar. Visual selection has been improved in the OpenGL programs. Configure has been updated for XFree86 4.0, and for BSD.
Release Notes: A new hack (nerverot), various improvements to bsod, shadebobs, petri, webcollage, sonar, bubbles, and xsublim, and minor fixes in extrusion, maze, flow, and the Makefiles.
Release Notes: A fix for a bad leak in xteevee, updates to critical, bsod, xflame, maze, and flow hacks, support for Kerberos 5 (via its Kerberos 4 compatibility layer), update to webcollage to handle recent Altavista URL format changes, and xscreensaver-demo installs itself into the GNOME Control Center.
Release Notes: Various minor bug fixes have been made, `sierpinski3d' now uses solid tetrahedrons instead of points, a -trace option has been added to `xmatrix', and the new hacks `xteevee' and `xspirograph' have been added.
Release Notes: Fixes for some bugs in xscreensaver-demo, the Motif version of xscreensaver-demo has been rewritten to match the new GTK version, and the Athena toolkit is no longer supported.
Release Notes: Fixes for some visual selection bugs (nVidia should work now) and improvements to the GTK xscreensaver-demo UI.
Release Notes: New hacks `ripples' and `sierpinski3d', `xscreensaver-demo' now comes up with the most-recently-run hack selected by default, the GTK version of `xscreensaver-demo' has been rewritten (it's a lot easier to use now), and various other fixes have been made. Note: the format of the ~/.xscreensaver file has changed, so you might want to delete your old .xscreensaver file and allow it to be re-created. The old file should still work, but xscreensaver-demo will be missing some stuff.
Release Notes: Fixes for gcc dependencies in `bumps' and `ccurve', a new hack, `extrusion', changes to accomodate current layouts of some of the Web sites that `webcollage' uses, typeahead in the password dialog (the key you use to dismiss xscreensaver will be used as the first character of the unlock password (unless it is Return or Space)), and a '-small' option for `xmatrix' (meaning use a tiny font).
