Release Notes: New display modes, hack and spheremonics were added, and minor updates made to webcollage, cage, moebius, morph3d, boxed, circuit, and helix. Pulsar and extrusion can now load texture JPEGs. Rubik now does non-square cubes. Fluidballs now does various sized balls. Menger and sierpinski3d now also show polygon counts in -fps mode. Molecule displays real subscripts in the formulae. GTK internationalization and localization is supported, along with better detection of libxml, and autoconf has been upgraded to the latest version.
Release Notes: Fixes for a few minor memory leaks, new hacks (cubenetic and fluidballs), new versions of pipes, glplanet, bsod, forest, and bumps, and better FPS computation in the GL hacks.
Release Notes: twang, glsnake, boxed, sballs, glforestfire, apollonian, euler2d, juggle, polyominoes and thornbird were added. ant, braid, demon, discrete, drift, fadeplot, forest, grav, hopalong, ifs, laser, lightning, lisa, lissie, loop, mountain, penrose, rotor, sierpinski, slip, sphere, spiral, strange, vines, xspirograph, gltext and webcollage were updated. A rare bug wherein the desktop-grabbing hacks could sometimes leave the screen wedged has been fixed. Various other minor configure and portability tweaks were added.
Release Notes: The "xscreensaver-demo" GUI was redesigned, and it now includes small-preview and per-hack configuration dialogs. Three new modes of operation were added: "One Screen Saver", "Blank Screen", and "Don't Blank" (in addition to the historical "Random Screen Saver"). The following new GL hacks were added: "menger", "engine", and "flipscreen3d". New versions of "sierpinski3d", "xmatrix", "nerverot", "crystal", "gflux", "sonar", and "webcollage" were written. Behavior on multi-screen and Xinerama systems was improved. Various other bugfixes and improvements were made.
Release Notes: 'memoryLimit' is now turned off by default. Fading on TrueColor XFree86 4.1.x systems has been improved. A 'fuzz' mode has been added to the 'decayscreen', and links have been added to 'glplanet' and 'sphereEversion'. 'phosphor' and 'starwars' now deal with CR, LF, or CRLF line endings.
Release Notes: New hacks (speedmine and whirlygig), updated versions of pyro, glplanet, starwars, webcollage, and attraction, rewritten screen-eraser effects so that they are fast on slow X servers, a workaround for a problem that caused PAM authentication to fail on some Red Hat 7.x systems, a memoryLimit parameter that throttles how large graphics hacks may grow, use of gnome-help-browser on GNOME systems, and fixes for some bugs that could potentially cause the daemon to crash under rare circumstances.
Release Notes: The image-manipulating hacks ('slidescreen', etc) can now operate on randomly chosen image files from disk, or on frames captured from the system's video input, instead of (or in addition to) manipulating images of the desktop. 'vidwhacker' has been rewritten to use the new image-grabbing mechanism. Fading now works on TrueColor XFree86 4.x systems, a fix for a subtle rendering bug in 'atlantis' (the fish were inside out!) has been included, 'atlantis' now has a texture simulating light reflections from the surface of the ocean, a fix for label placement in 'molecule' has been included, color bars in 'xteevee' have been improved, and 'install-strip' no longer tries to strip scripts.
Release Notes: This release adds new versions of "rotzoomer" and "nerverot", adds more sensible defaults for DPMS, updates the documentation to reflect the fact that all your DPMS settings are now belong to xscreensaver, fixes the "xscreensaver.spec" file so that "--force" is no longer needed when installing the RPM, and fixes an OSF/1 compilation problem in "molecule".
Release Notes: This release includes the new hacks: molecule, dangerball, and rotzoomer, a new version of "gflux", the ability to have "gltext" display the current time, a fix for a flaoting-point-precision problem in "gltext" that could cause horizontal lines to vanish, changes to the "starwars" hack to use thicker lines, antialias the text, and fade out at the far edge instead of just dropping off, and a fix for an SHM segment leak in "moire".
Release Notes: New features include better rendering of the new logo, a new hack called `gltext', improved coloration in `sierpinski3d', smoother motion and rotation in `gears', `glplanet', `moebius', `rubik', and `sierpinski3d'. A `-planetary' option was added to `gears', to draw a different kind of gear system. The GL hacks now react to window size changes. Most of the GL hacks now take a -fps option, which you can use to benchmark your 3D hardware. The previous fix to `sonar' was fixed. A minor fix was made to `nerverot'. `sonar' is now able to ping hosts on DEC OSF1. A bogus "didn't get enough colors" warning in some of the hacks was eliminated.
