Release Notes: In this version, the package was converted to use GNU Autoconf and GNU Automake. As a result, the build procedure is now well known and the program builds cleanly under more systems. The build was fixed under IRIX 6.5 using the MIPSpro C compiler.
Release Notes: A -p flag for prepending new entries in catalog files instead of appending them was added. The lookup action was modified to be consistent across XML and SGML catalogs (i.e., it shows all matching entries when running in XML mode, not just the first one). There were also several bugfixes: an incorrect attribute specification in XML tags was fixed, a warning message that printed strings in the wrong order was fixed, some compilation warnings with -O2 and glibc were corrected, and some typos in the manual were corrected.
Release Notes: This version has been marked as the new stable release after two months of testing without major problems. It solves some build problems under HP-UX and Tru64 Unix and fixes a crash that appeared on some malformed XML catalogs.

Release Notes: The program was completely rewritten in C. A new build infrastructure was added to make the program very portable. The "lookup" action was added, which searches entries in catalog files. The program was changed to understand catalog files (using real parsers) instead of handling them in a line oriented fashion, making it a lot more flexible. Multiple race conditions were fixed. Handling of special characters and spaces in entries was improved as a side effect of the conversion to C.
Release Notes: This release adds the ability to select a grep utility during configuration time, so that the path is not relied upon to execute it (this will help systems where the default grep does not understand the -F option).
Release Notes: AWK code generation was fixed to work with the mawk interpreter. Makefile.boot now installs documentation inside the directory pointed by the BT_DIR_DOC variable instead of hard-coding the path.
Release Notes: Some minor fixes were done in the manpage. Most of program's code was cleaned up, simplifying shell constructions. The build system was improved to install documentation files in the system, which is useful for binary packages.
Release Notes: XML catalog type management has been added, and now both formats (SGML and XML) are supported. Handling for comments in SGML catalogs was added. Code was reorganized and the man page improved. There are some bugfixes, especially while handling arguments that contain whitespace.
