    Release Notes: A buffer overflow which allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code or crash the client via a crafted ASF header, related to CVE-2006-1664, was fixed. The default V4L device paths were sanitized, and the V4L ALSA audio input device was made configurable. Streaming audio playback and a possible crash on DVB channel change were fixed. The recently broken support for subtitles with schemes was fixed. Several improvements and bugfixes were made for the Flash video demuxer. xine-config is now based on pkg-config.

      Release Notes: This release fixes an RTSP header buffer overflow, as reported in CVE-2008-0225. Upgrading is strongly recommended. Furthermore, fixes were made for a read-past-end bug in the internal strtok_r() implementation, and for a bug which caused video playback display errors on PPC/Darwin.

        Release Notes: Improvements were made to DVB subtitle support and to H.264 video. Fixes were made for MP3 playback, DVB, ivtv, Flash video streams, and some playlist types (particularly XML ones), and for several other minor issues.

          Release Notes: This release has improved DVB subtitles support, implements simple subtitle scaling and bold and italics for text subtitles, and allows control of XxMC bob deinterlacing. It also has fixes for an audio resampling problem (which manifested as regular clicking), a problem that would cause the goom plugin to stop working, and URL escape handling (use of %) in DVD and Video CD MRLs. Some memory leaks are also fixed, and there are some build fixes for Solaris.

            Release Notes: Support for libdca (formerly libdts) was added. The aRTs output plugin is disabled by default and is pending removal. AFD information can now be extracted from MPEG streams. Several significant fixes were made, such as for disappearing audio devices, for broken RealPlayer library paths, for VCD playback, for demuxing of FLAC files with ID3v2 tags, and mmap()ing of huge files on 32-bit systems.

              Release Notes: Security issues with playlists were fixed, so upgrading is recommended. Fixes were made for crashes, memory leaks, and bugs. Functional enhancements and features were added. The appearance of non-skinned windows has been harmonized (with more space for text). The translations were updated.

                Release Notes: Several problems with CD audio and DVD playback, introduced in the previous release, were fixed. Several memory leaks, notably in the DVB plugin, were eliminated. The Mac OS X video output plugin was improved. Building the XcbXv plugin was fixed.

                  Release Notes: A heap overflow in the DMO loader, as reported in CVE-2007-1246, was fixed. XCB-based output plugins using Xv and XShm were added. Portability was increased. A crash in the eq2 plugin, a race condition in the alsa output driver, and handling of ID3v2 tags on AAC input were fixed. Many other improvements were made.

                      Release Notes: NTSC DVD audio sync was fixed. Workarounds for buggy ffmpeg codecs were implemented. Several possible crashes were fixed. Several further fixes were made. Support for True Audio and WavPack was added.
