xget is a Perl/Tk, C/GTK+, and Perl console utility which acts as a front-end for the wget downloading utility. It provides new users with a user friendly interface while still providing all the powerful features of wget.

    Release Notes: About window bug fixed (Caused Xget to crash in some cases). Code cleanup. Comments added. A bug in the installation script was fixed.

      Release Notes: New features include recursive downloading, the addition of a menu, the ability to edit and save each user's settings, the addition of a version bar at the bottom of the main window, and a new working installation script. The URL History window now has unlimited URL listing, displays the newest URL at the top, and can now be cleared. The bug where the "continue download" option stuck on even if box was unclicked has been fixed. A major code clean up and internal overhaul was made.

        Release Notes: A save URL list (allows you to select from 10 of the latest downloads to continue with), a button for list, work started on a directory browser, new installation and removal scripts created (currently unusable), and removal of useless and unused variables.

          Perl Tk GTK mess
          For a simple application, it certainly requires an aweful lot of dependencies. I was really hoping to find an author to have the common sense to write a simple wget front end in GTK. Also, the data files that need to be installed are rather very excessive.. This app needs a lot of clean up work.
