Release Notes: The NVIDIA (nv) driver now uses MMIO for VGA port access and has DDC support. The 8 24 support used by the Matrox (mga) and 3Dlabs (glint) drivers is now a non-destructive overlay. The Xinerama extension has been completely rewritten for improved performance and correctness. The server can now load/initialise extension modules that it doesn't have built-in knowledge of. More PS/2 mice and serial PnP mice are recognized and supported. USB mouse support is also available in FreeBSD and OpenBSD. A DPS extension for XFree86 is currently under development. The "apm" driver (Alliance Pro Motion) has been updated. Support for the AT24 has been added in this release, and acceleration has been improved. Preliminary support has been added to the X server for the extended keys on some "Internet" keyboards. A new X server extension has been added for optimising access to metric data for large fonts.
Release Notes: Highlights of the new release include: support for the ATI Rage128. support for the ATI Rage Mobility, support for the SiS 540/630 and SiS 300, support for Silicon Motion Lynx chipsets, support for the Savage2000, support for the NVIDIA GeForce, support for the Intel i810 (not enabled by default as it needs a kernel module), and fixes to several drivers.

Release Notes: This is a full release, that completes the missing pieces from the somewhat less optimal 3.3.4 release in July 1999. If you are having problems with a prior release, please try XFree86-3.3.5 first before asking for help. Highlights of the new release include DG/ux ix86 support, QNX support, Linux/x86-only S3 Savage4 driver was added (provided from S3), fixes for SiS 530/620 (provided from SiS), fixed Mach64 server to support Rage LT and LT Pro, PAM support, misc bug fixes for several drivers, and misc fixes for security problems and other bugs.
Release Notes: Due to important changes after 3.3.4 was finalized, binaries are only available for a handful of plantforms. A new 3.3.5 release, which will include more binaries, will be released within the next couple weeks. Version 3.9.15, the first pre-4.0 snapshot, is also available.
