X-Cart is a PHP shopping cart software used by tens thousands on-line merchants worldwide. It provides a wide range of e-commerce features, flexible "tableless" design, easy text content modification using WYSIWYG tools, W3C XHTML 1.0 compliance, SEO friendly product catalog, Web-based administration, on-line payment gateways support, real-time shipping cost estimation based on product dimensions, inventory management, full multi-language support, and report management. X-Cart has no logical limitations on the number of products and categories in product catalog.

Release Notes: The admin area has a new look. Checkout can be done with just one page by using AJAX. XML sitemaps and product maps are supported. Google Maps can be used for shipping and billing addresses. The UPS and FedEx shipping modules have been updated to the current API documentation. Support for ZIP+4 codes used in the US has been added. The "My Account" page has been added to the customer area. An email address can now be used as a login ID. An address book was added for customers to manage their shipping and billing addresses. An admin can ask customers to confirm that they accept terms and conditions. Integration with MailChimp was added.

Release Notes: This release is issued under evaluation and paid licenses. The evaluation license allows you to download and start using X-Cart at no charge. The Built-in modules include X-AOM, X-RMA, and Flyout Menus with the new "Tree-like expanding menu" scheme. AJAX-powered add-to-cart buttons, minicart, and product ratings were added. The back-end area was improved with better usability. Two new W3C-compliant storefront skins with a CSS layout were added. A history of order changes was added. A quick order/product/user search panel that can be opened with a keyboard shortcut was added. The shipping and payment modules were revised.

X-Cart 4.2 version does actually have CSS-based layout and is no longer table-based. There are other notable SEO features available there. Now it also support Google Analytics right out-of-the-box.
Modifications
X-cart is widely used and quite convenient, it's out of the question.
But after its installation still modifications are needed. One of issues is the necessity to add X-AOM at once. Its functions are essential for any shopping cart.
Wouldn't it be more comfortable to add this module to standard functionality?
