Release Notes: A new makefile (Makefile.nocygwin) to use the Cygwin port of gcc to compile an executable that does not require cygwin1.dll, but uses standard Windows DLLs instead (needed for the Windows version of distributed executable).
Release Notes: Used gcc -MM to create dependency files instead of makedep. As a result, it is no longer necessary to have X Windows installed to create dependency files.
