The WORM MP3 Encoder (WLAME) is a powerful and flexible MP3 encoder that uses the LAME engine put together with the WORM Sound Laboratories' sound model. The encoder is capable of producing high-quality sound, even at the lower bitrates. Other technologies include sound preservation. All MP3s produced are compatible with standard MP3 players.
Release Notes: R2 includes a highly optimised engine to improve encoding performance and sound quality.
Release Notes: This release has a new --ABR switch. Less memory is used. The code has been reworked and enhanced, and there are minor fixes). ETA is slightly more accurate when there is no load on the machine. This release uses the enhancement model by WORM Sound Laboratories. A new option, --strictly-enforce-ISO, makes output comply to the MP3 standard. Switches routines have been cleaned up and enhanced, preventing switches from being ignored. Code for 160kbps as maximum bitrate has been added. The interface is now more clear. Non-original is now reported correctly. -private is now -PRIVATE.
