Comments for WebAPP

29 Apr 2007 02:05 tedcambron

Please ignore my comments under
I wrote them several years ago. WebAPP has changed alot since then, and to start with the entire project has moved to http://www.web-app.net. and the old site at web-app.org has been sold to *one* former developer, whom DO NOT represent the project. For more information kindly check whois history change records for the site.

Dear editor, please either allow me to edit my old comment or to post this here,

Thank you

Re: Why not just go kill eachother
I'm just deleting any new comments on the matter and letting the current
ones stand as an explanation of the perspectives of both sides.

Why not just go kill eachother
I don't care about this soft but this

pointless FUD is really annoying...

I should think that if you have an issue with the project ownership which you can confirm I'm sure the freshmeat admins might help you out...

Re: Been looking for this script for years!
The web-app.net site is distributing a release I did for that group last September, which was 3 versions ago before our current release. Having been project manager for the WebAPP project (http://www.web-app.org/cgi-bin/index.cgi) since February of 2005, I have deep knowledge of the project and the people involved. Carter Brown gave me the project and the WebAPP site last November due to the constant harrassment he was receiving from this web-app.net group. That is nothing but the truth.

Re: Been looking for this script for years!
Please note:

1.) All the developers who created this script moved to http://www.web-app.net .

2.) The original creator of this thread here Carter, has resigned from the project and sold his site to someone with a nick name "bantychick".

3.) Now, this person comes here and claims that the site was down (this is not true) and that the project is back (which is also not true).

Please read more about the consequences of this false claiming and using this spin-off script <a
href="http://www.web-app.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi?action=forum&board=public_security&op=display&num=10037&start=15#17">here.

Yes, extremly unsecure script.

The WebAPP project continues at web-app.org. We are a couple revisions past what we did when working with this project On mentions, at his .net site, done while the web-app.org site was inaccessible.

Now the WebAPP site is back, so the project continues at the original site with an active community and most of the developers active over the last couple of years still there working with the project at web-app.org (http://www.web-app.org/cgi-bin/index.cgi) .

Come and see us!

Me and the rest of major developers of webapp moved to http://www.web-app.net

One can find a safer and much more efficient webapp script there as well as 24/7 live support.

Re: WebAPP Network
1.) The original and official webapp script support and development site is at http://www.web-app.net so bartychicken or whatever you call please stop confussimg the users here.

2.) When it comes to "poor you being kicked out", this story starts sounding like a broken record, Carter kicked you from org, Marius kicked you from org and now you get kicked from net.

To make it exact, you were kicked from org because the developers were not happy with your coding, or rather bugging. When it comes to net, the develoeprs were also not happy with the coding and hidden agendas, but we were very nice here with you and did not kick you out, we asked you polietly to leave, and not because your bugs but because you broke GPL rules by overwriting original copyrights with yours. We are very happy that you took self criticks and left.

You can go around telling tragic stories about you being the eternal victim, but when it comes to the true facts, you have no one else to blame except your self.

Been looking for this script for years!
Been looking for this script for years! got a collection of over 50,000 Perl scripts... and this one absolutly rulz! It has everything and anything you want in your web portal and doesn't take more than 3 min to install!

Check the main site at http://www.web-app.org
And if you know what you are doing go for the mods and the plugins at: http://www.wideopensources.com/perl/webapp/modapp/

Just one warning!
web-app is highly addictive!

Simply the best.
WebAPP is quite possibly the best flat file perl portal in the World. Very secure for a portal of it's kind and the support is unmatched any where on the Web.
