Wdm is a modification of the X11 xdm package for graphically handling authentication and system login. Most of xdm has been preserved with the login interface based on a WINGs implementation using Tom Rothamel's "external greet" interface.

Detection of pam/shadow in the configure script was improved. An option to select the display on which the login panel will appear when using xinerama was added. Options controlling output of error messages were improved. Now it is possible to redirect messages to syslog or specified file. The pixmaps directory was moved to a new default location.
