WDB is a weather data storage system for storage of weather and water observations, forecasts, analysis fields, and models. The system should be compatible with the meteorological standards BUFR and GRIB (version 1 and 2). In addition to generic loading programs, WDB also features a flexible retrieval interface for retrieving weather data in time series or entire fields. WDB is built using PostgreSQL extended with PostGIS.

Release Notes: This release extracts the cleaning functionality of WDB into separate Debian packages (although the code is still maintained in the core repository). It also adds a wci.median function and improves the polygon from raster data retrieval functionality.

Release Notes: This release marks the official "production version" of WDB. It includes some major changes to the WDB system. WDB has been updated to be compatible with PostgreSQL 8.4. Upgrade functionality has been added to the WDB system (the database can now be upgraded without deleting the data). The parameter data system is now based on CF metadata. Local metadata has been split out into its own package. Major rebuilding of the WCI read module to improve performance for the reading of both fields and point value data.
