WCD is a directory changer for DOS and Unix. Another NCD (Norton Change Directory) clone. This program jumps to a (sub)directory anywhere in the directory-tree. The directory to jump to can be given by only the first characters or an expression with wildcards.

Release Notes: Wcd has a new optional compact tree mode in which the tree is drawn the same way as in Windows or the KDE explorer. It now compiles with MS Visual C. A few small problems have been fixed.


Release Notes: Wildcard expansion has been disabled for all DOS and Windows versions to fix unexpected behaviour. The support for Open Watcom C has been improved. The code has been cleaned up.

Release Notes: The option "-I" has been added to ignore diacritics (e.g., accents and umlauts) for Latin-based scripts. Unicode matching has normalization for all languages. Improved printing has been achieved on Windows. You don't need to change the code page anymore, only set the font to Lucida Console when characters don't appear correctly. Unicode support for Windows Command Prompt has been added (works only on Windows 7, and not on older versions of Windows).


Release Notes: The WCDHOME environment variable no longer changes the default scanning directory ($HOME or /). The default scan directory can be changed with the WCDSCAN environment variable, and WCDHOME only changes the location of files. Error messages were made clearer and installation of the shell function was improved.
