Ogg Vorbis is a high-quality lossy audio codec which is free of intellectual property restrictions (like those surrounding MP3). These are the tools that one needs to create and play Ogg Vorbis files on the commandline, as well as a simple commentor.
Release Notes: This is the first official release of vorbis-tools since 1.2.x. 1.3.x was never offered as an official snapshot, though various versions were widely deployed as patch-sets by distributions.
Release Notes: This release supports FLAC, Ogg FLAC, and Speex files (reading/playing), and adds minor bugfixes.
No changes have been submitted for this release.
Release Notes: All tools were updated for Ogg Vorbis 1.0rc3. Oggenc now supports the advanced bitrate management features. Ogg123 has been majorly reworked and now does streaming correctly. UTF-8 support was improved in all the tools.
Release Notes: This release adds lots of bugfixes, new vorbis libraries, much better sounding encoded audio, and a new vorbiscomment which now actually works quite well.
