Version 1.0.0 of VLC media player

Release Notes: This release introduces major new features and fixes a lot of bugs. New features include newly supported codecs (AES3, Dolby Digital Plus, TrueHD, Blu-Ray Linear PCM, Real Video 3.0 and 4.0, and more), newly supported formats (Raw Dirac, M2TS, and more), and major improvements in support for many formats, live recording, instant pausing, and frame-by-frame support. The interface for Linux and Windows has been improved and a new default skin is used.

Release Notes: VLC 2.0.0 "Twoflower" is a major new release of VLC. It has faster decoding using multi-core, GPU, and mobile hardware, and the ability to open more formats, notably professional, HD, and 10bits codecs. It has a new rendering pipeline for video, with higher quality subtitles and new video filters. It supports many new devices and BluRay Discs (experimental). It features completely-reworked Mac and Web interfaces and improvements in the other interfaces to make VLC easier than ever to use. It fixes several hundred bugs.

Release Notes: This is the twelfth release of the 1.1.x branch. This is a minor release, focused on security issues and bugfixes. It notably fixes security issues in the AVI and RM demuxers, improves the AVI muxer for transcoding, the OS X interface, extensions support, and the Windows Web plugin. It also integrates updated codecs and translations.

Release Notes: This release brings fixes for some security issues, notably in the xspf demuxer and in some underlying libraries; it also includes a rewritten pulseaudio audio output, removal of the fontconfig dependency on the Win32 freetype module, updated translations, and a lot of small Mac OS X fixes.

    Release Notes: This release is a minor one, bringing minor enhancements and fixing security issues. Enhancements include new UI graphics for the Mac interface, a new dirac encoder, and updated codecs. It also brings multiple fixes in codecs, protocols, demuxers, and subtitles support. Finally, there is a major update in most translations.
