Release Notes: The bulk of this release consists of general bugfixes and improvements to hardware detection and device drivers, with a particular focus on USB. New features include the ability to boot from a USB device (a new USB image is available for download) and the ability to power down the system.

Lots of work was done on the USB subsystem, including support for USB mice/keyboards and hubs. The FAT filesystem driver was tuned. Usability fixes were made for various user programs. Loads of OS kernel and C library improvements and bugfixes were made.


Release Notes: This maintenance release focused on disk I/O performance (fixing the kernel's disk cache and adding IDE lookahead and write caching), secure deletion (shredding) of files/partitions/disks, and bugfixes, including important changes to the OS loader resulting in more reliable booting on more systems.
