Release Notes: This version contains many enhancements and bugfixes. It was upgraded to VTK 5.8.0. Windows distributions now contain a parallel compute engine based on MSMPI. Cumulative query selections were enhanced so they can cache intermediate results obtained from executing filters over time. Queries provide a more uniform interface in the Python interface. 2D multi-resolution rendering capability was added for 2D AMR data. The Streamline plot now works with AMR data. Libsim now allows mesh-sized ghost zone arrays to be used.
Release Notes: This release fixes some critical bugs in prior versions. One of the most noteworthy fixes is the elimination of a memory leak in the viewer which could eventually crash the X server. In addition, several client/server, database reader, and Python-related bugs have been fixed. This release also features a self-contained Python-based launch script which is easier to customize. Support for parallel VisIt on MacOS X has been reinstated by building against MPICH, which gets installed into the VisIt application bundle.
Release Notes: This is primarily a bugfix release to resolve issues in several areas. Problems saving transparent geometry on Windows have been solved. Various Libsim bugs have been fixed, and support has been added for variables defined on material subregions of the mesh. Curve data support has been improved by adding an export option and fixing compositing problems which plagued image saving in parallel. Bugs affecting Python have been fixed. The VisIt module can once again be imported into Python, and command recording now works in that mode. Interacting with plots no longer results in VisIt showing blank windows.

Several enhancements have been made for Windows, including better SSH connectivity, metadata identifying VisIt programs, and PySide support. Multiple bugs related to AMR meshes have been fixed. Missing data values are now supported. Many improvements have been made to the Streamline plot, including support for pathlines. The Python module includes many new functions and a new visit_utils module. Selections have been enhanced so they offer multiple ways to index cells in a mesh. Several readers (including NETCDF, GMV, MFIX, CGND, and Mili) have been upgraded. Additional color tables are now installed.
Release Notes: This is primarily a bugfix release which resolves issues in several areas. VisIt can now build without Mesa, enabling broader support for Ubuntu. VisIt's rendering performance has been improved, making version 2.4.2 at least as fast as versions prior to VisIt 2.4.0. Text annotations have been fixed so they are no longer truncated. A number of improvements have been made to the handling of variables restricted to specific materials. Material selection now works correctly with AMR data sets when changing time steps. Errors have been corrected in the GMV, Nek5000, and Wavefront OBJ plugins.
