Release Notes: This release brings many new features. The first of them is the introduction of a 'route' type. OSM contributors will be pleased to discover the new features allowing them to download their own GPX tracks from the OSM server. Many more features concern the GUI. Finally, an old feature is restored: the ability to access the Google service for finding a route.
Release Notes: This version brings many changes. On the OSM front, MapQuest is the new default map and OSM transport was added. Geotagging support has been improved. JOSM is integrated (export layer info or open at current position). GPSBabel has better integration to offer all supported devices and import any file types. GPSD support was bumped to APIv5. There are miscellaneous bugfixes, improvements, and language translations.
Release Notes: Most changes concern the graphical user interface (tooltips, dialogs, menus). On the front of features, tracks have new menu entries (highest point, latest point) and maps declare copyright notices. Concerning maps data, viking is now able to connect a TMS and WMS-C. Due to these new features, a SpotMaps provider has been added for OpenStreetMap contributors.

Release Notes: Lot of changes were made in this release. One of the most significant new features is the support of DEM (Digital Elevation Model) data. Other new features are Google Map searching, new icons, and downloading maps along a track and lot. This release also contains lot of fixes.
Release Notes: Lot of new features were made. GPS device access is now supported via a new "GPS layer". The track properties dialog now displays interactive time information. The tools are contextual: if a tool has no meaning for the current selection, it is disabled. The Cut/Copy/Paste actions are available via the "Edit" menu and popup menus. Positions (lat/lon) can be entered in multiple formats: DDD/DMM/DMS (ex: 3.5, 3°30.0, 3°30'0.00). Map sections are displayed while downloading (a manual refresh is no longer required). It is possible to enable/disable some map sources at configuration time (eg. --disable-google).
Release Notes: This is a testing release only. It is made on the 0.1.1 version, improved with modifications made up to the 2007-01-28. A new layer is available to upload/download directly to/from a GPS device. It is now possible to disable some things with configure options (--disable-google, --disable-terraserver, and --disable-expedia).

Release Notes: New map sources have been added, including Google. It is now possible to drag and drop layers and way/trackpoints and copy/paste between vikings. A "smart" copy that can parse a lat/lon from Web pages like geocaching.com and emails was added. In the properties of a layer, it is now possible to consult graphs of altitude/velocity. An experimental "acquire" features allows the importing of data from GPS, Google directions, and Geocaching.com. The gpx file format is now supported.
