Release Notes: GLSL shaders now support normal mapping glossiness, specular mapping, and soft self-shadowing on starships. Initial multiplayer support is included, with the ability to host your own servers for online play. The physics system has been revamped to support thousands of ships at once, giving the star systems a more lively feel, with lots of civilian craft. Support for DXT1 and DXT5 textures has been added, so load times are much smaller. esd and arts configuration can be avoided with this version, as it has an integrated soundserver.
