UnicodeConverter is a Java/Windows/.NET program that converts text, RTF, HTML, and Word/Excel documents in Vietnamese legacy encodings such as VNI, VPS, VISCII, TCVN3 (ABC), VIQR/Vietnet NCR (windows-1252, iso-8859-1), and Unicode Composite (Decomposed or NFD) to Unicode Precomposed (NFC) format.

    Release Notes: Refactored using Design Patterns to improve code reusability, program extensibility, and maintainability. The JACOB library has been updated to version 1.9.1.

      Release Notes: Support was added for Unicode Composite (Decomposed or NFD), ISC, and NCR (windows-1252, iso-8859-1) encodings. File drag-and-drop support was added. The user interface was localized. The conversion module was optimized.

        Release Notes: This release added support for the conversion of Excel workbooks and improved VIQR conversion. Invalid characters in URLs as a result of converting VIQR text to Unicode were corrected, and the Word conversion was improved.

          Release Notes: This release improves conversion speed, corrects invalid characters in URLs resulting from converting VIQR text, and works around a bug in Mac OS X's Java 1.4.1 Update 1.

            Release Notes: The jacob.dll file was updated. Sun's implementation of JNI Get<Type>ArrayElements() function was changed between 1.4.1 and 1.4.2, which caused UnicodeConverter to fail on Word document conversion in JRE 1.4.2.
