UnderC C++ Interpreter

UnderC was designed as a compact fast interpreter which does most of the ISO standard. It does templates, and comes with 'pocket' versions of the standard library classes like string, vector, map, etc. It is very straightforward to load functions from shared libraries using a simple pragma and an external "C" directive. UnderC is a fully interactive system, so single lines of code can be quickly evaluated and tested.

      Release Notes: In this version, the UnderC Reflection Interace (UCRI) allows UnderC programs to access their own metadata. Some preliminary documentation is available for using the libraries and using UnderC as a shared library to add C++ scripting to your own applications.

      Hi mingodad,

      Just downloaded
      I tried to compile with MinW 3.4.5 (not using msys). Got a link error with -ldl.
      then got libdl.a from another google project.

      Now, ucc.exe looks ok.

      I also tried with Cygwin gcc 4.3. Got some others errors. More on that later.

      I think it's a great idea to revive UnderC. Thanks for your work!

      Hello !

      I'm managing to update UnderC C/C++ interpreter to work with modern c++ compilers, actually it works on windows with gcc 4, compiles on linux but doesn't work properly, and crash with vc++ 2008.

      I think that will be a great framework having FLTK and UnderC working together, will be easy to prototype/experiment with FLTK and when ready just recompile with a c++ compiler if speed isn't good enough.

      UnderC from as is doesn't compile with modern compilers but with a bit of work I managed to get it working on windows with gcc 4 and I'm asking people that can be interested to try it and help make it solid like FLTK.

      Anyone interested can grab the reworked sources at

      Thanks in advance for any help/comments/ideas to it !
