TrueCrypt

TrueCrypt is on-the-fly disk encryption software that can create a virtual encrypted disk within a file and mount it as a real disk. It can also encrypt an entire hard disk partition, or a storage device such as USB memory stick. It supports plausible deniability.

          Release Notes: Support was added for security tokens and smart cards. Several enhancements were made to the TrueCrypt boot loader. The full ability to mount a Windows system partition encrypted by TrueCrypt under Linux and Mac OS X was added. Many other improvements and minor bugfixes were made.

            Release Notes: On systems where certain inappropriately designed chipset drivers were installed, it was impossible to encrypt the system partition/drive. This will no longer occur. Other minor bugs were fixed.
