Transcalc is an analysis and synthesis tool for calculating the electrical and physical properties of different kinds of RF and microwave transmission lines. It uses GTK+ for its user interface. For each type of transmission line, it presents you with dialog boxes which allow you to enter values for the various parameters, and either calculate its electrical properties (analyze) or use the given electrical requirements to sythesize physical parameters of the required transmission line.

Release Notes: Microstrip line calculations have been made more accurate. A new transmission line type has been added: coupled microstrip line. Transmission line parameters and results can now be saved and loaded for future use. When run for the first time, a config directory is created under the user's home directory where configuration and last-run calculation information is stored. Several example files have been added to the distribution. Major code cleanup has been performed.
Release Notes: gdk-imlib-dev is recommended, not required; if the configure script fails to find gdk-imlib, transcalc will still be compiled with slightly reduced functionality. An improved synthesis function in microstrip by using Newton's method to converge on physical parameters, a new coaxial transmission line in the list of available lines, and some code cleanups.
