Other filesystem tools have been updated: fsarchiver to 0.4.1, btrfs (kernel module and tools) to 0.18, ntfs3g to 2009.1.1, GParted to 0.4.2, and GRUB to 0.97-r9. tar has been patched to add support for xattr/acl/selinux. The whatis/locate databases and the sysresccd-cleansys scripts that help to make the live CD smaller have been fixed.

Release Notes: It's now possible to add new packages to your customized live CD using the gentoo package commands. You can also use the backing-store, which is a loopback filesystem, to save the changes made on the live CD between two reboots. You can now recompile your kernel, all the things required are provided. A boot option (nameif) was added that lets you choose which name to give to the Ethernet interfaces using their MAC addresses. The standard kernels and the alternative kernels have been switched. The kernels were updated to 2.6.25.16. A lot of packages have been updated.

Release Notes: The standard kernel is now based on modules, and has been updated to 2.6.25.15. Development and Gentoo tools (gcc, make, emerge, etc.) so that one can install new packages on the system. The option nameif has been added to specify the order of the eth interfaces. Support has been added for backing stores (which can be a loopback filesystem on a USB stick) to keep the changes made on the system between reboots. There is improved drivers support.

Release Notes: This release also works on old i486/i586 processors. Xvesa has been added as an alternative graphical server to use when Xorg fails. A 64-bits alternative kernel (altker64) has been added. All the initramfs igz files have been merged into a single initram.igz file. The PXE boot can now download the sysrcd.dat file using the tftp protocol. Bugs in the network configuration boot options (ethx, dodhcp, and gateway) have been fixed. This release upgrades the default kernel to Linux 2.6.24.02 with Reiser4 and btrfs 0.12, app-admin/testdisk to 6.9, sys-block/gparted to 0.3.5, and sys-fs/ntfs3g to 1.2216. Other systems tools have been added and updated.

Release Notes: This release works with CPUs older than the i686. An Xvesa graphical server has been added so that it works when Xorg fails to start. A 64-bit alternative kernel has been added, and the default kernel updated to 2.6.24.2. All the ramdisks have been merged. Now you can download the system via TFTP rather than HTTP when booting via PXE. The autorun scripts can be downloaded via HTTP. There are many other changes and software updates.

Release Notes: This version introduces major new features. Now SystemRescueCd supports SPARC and amd64 as well as x86. The 64-bit kernel allows you to chroot on a 64-bit Linux. It's also possible to boot off the network via PXE. The "Offline NT Password & Registry Editor" floppy disk was updated and supports Vista. An alternative kernel (vmlinuz2) was added to solve boot problems and hardware compatibilities issues. A partimage-ssl client was added. Some programs were updated (such as ntfs3g and oscar).

Release Notes: This release adds support for PXE network booting, improves the kernel configuration and hardware support, adds an alternative kernel (vmlinuz2) based on 2.6.20 in case the main kernel fails, and adds a partimage-ssl client so users can connect to a partimage server with SSL enabled.

Release Notes: This release adds the xorg graphical environment with WindowMaker, which allows use of GParted 0.3.3 and several graphical tools. It adds ntfs3g-beta-20061212 (full NTFS read/write). It updates the filesystem tools (parted, e2fsprogs, xfsprogs, etc.), the system (glibc, clamav, etc.), and the boot disks.
