linux swapd

swapd is a dynamic swap creation daemon for Linux. It monitors the system memory and detects when swap creation will be required. The swap size is determined automatically with respect to the limits set by the sysadmin. It works with Linux kernels version 2.4.23 or higher.

    Release Notes: The package name has changed to represent the real name of the project and avoid confusion with portable swapd. There are some bugfixes.

        Release Notes: A lot changes were made, since the program was completely redesigned. Three threads are now used (for creation, merging, and cleaning). mkswap isn't needed anymore. A major speed improvement was made. This is an alpha release: although it works fine on the author's computer, it has some defaults that can't be overriden on the command line.
