SPCA50X USB Camera Linux Driver

The SPCA50X USB Camera Linux Driver is a stand-alone kernel module which adds support for USB cameras based on the SPCA50x series of chips. Such cameras include the Intel PC Camera Pro and the Intel Create and Share, along with other cameras from Viewquest Technologies. The driver supports moving colour video from the Intel PC Camera Pro (SPCA505).

    Release Notes: Bugfixes were made. Extra camera support was added. The code was reorganized.

      Release Notes: Support for ViewQuest M318B (0733:0402) was added. Support for XawTV was improved. Support for Intel Create and Share (SPCA501-based) cams was improved. An initialization bug for connection/disconnection support was fixed.

        Release Notes: Updates for create-and-share have been made, however, these have not been tested - please send feedback on this release so that we can get create-and-share working properly.

          Release Notes: A crashing bug left over from the ov511 buffer release code has been fixed. The blocking read synchronization code has been rewritten. An on-screen display of frame sequence and image size has been added.

            Hi!

            I have the intel too, have some crash, and the resolution is very poor (100x100??), some color problem (bright??), cant get xawtv to work, but gqcam, and camE, work but with the resolution and color problem...

            Have some suggestion how to fix it???

            Hi, thanks for the driver,
            I was wondering whether there is any support for
            the above camera present in your driver - as a
            /dev/video0 link doesn't appear when the driver is
            inserted - perhaps I am going about it wrong.
