Sound Mural

Sound Mural is a picture-to-sound converter. A PBM/PGM/PPM file is read on stdin and a WAV file is written on stdout. The image is treated as a spectrogram. Examples can be seen and heard on the Sound Mural Web page.

Release Notes: A compile-time option was added for using a linear frequency scaling instead of logarithmic frequency scaling. Logarithmic scaling is still the default. Logarithmic scaling is more musical. Linear scaling makes it easy to do image->sound->image conversion, as seen with Lena on the Sound Mural Web page.
