Release Notes: Songwrite 2 is a complete rewrite, with a new interface based on GTK 2 and Cairo (with anti-aliasing), a new staff rendering engine that handles tonality and alteration correctly, a new plugin system, new documentation, and updated printing support for Lilypond 2.11.20 and above.

Release Notes: This release has printing with LaTeX and Lilypond (still experimental), drums, a drums "tuning" dialog, importing from ASCII tablature (tested only with GTablature ASCII tab) , and improved left/right movements as well as mouse click single note selection. ask for saving if needed on close, open or new. Songs have now a language property (used by LaTeX). A banjo with 5 strings in G has been added. There are bugfixes with ASCII tablature with triplets and ASCII tablature with notes fretted at 10 or more.
