Version 18.00 of Server optimized Linux

Release Notes: This is the fifth stable release of SoL since 2002. The installation- and rescue-system is now based on the new SoL-ISI technology, which was first introduced in the live-CD distribution XoL 18.00. RunSoL, the XML boot-technology introduced by antitachyon was extended by many features. The release includes gcc 3.3.3 and gcc 2.95.3 integration with fast-switching, Linux Kernel 2.6.6, a multilanguage installer (English, German, Nederlands, Italian, Spanish, and Greek), the LIVE-CD Diagnosis and rescue system SoL-ISI, a ready to run copy of spamassassin, and easy X11 configuration.

Release Notes: This version uses the SoLIv2 installation system, which features software RAID support, a quick-install mode for automatic mass-installations, and a clear step-by-step installation menu. Servers can be installed within 30 minutes. It also included an enhanced XML boot system, SoL-diag 2.0, which facilitates fast and easy diagnosis of computers, and music from three Austrian bands.

Release Notes: This version includes GNOME 1.4 and 2.2, KDE 3.1 with multimedia extensions, tons of KDE 3.1 applications, OpenOffice 1.0.2, MP3 encoders, PalmPilot utilities, the ImageMagick graphic tools, the Gaim AOL/ICQ/MSN client, Licq, Gimp 1.3.13, TeTeX, and Mozilla 1.3.
