Release Notes: This release adds support for VCDs. A shortcut editor has been added. The GUI has been rewritten, adding some toolbars, and now icons can also be changed; several icon themes are available. This release can show an icon in the system tray. It has optional support for KDE 3. Some new functions have been added like pan and scan, stay on top, and the ability to set the size of the window. Several new translations have been added: this release is translated into more than 20 languages.

The subtitles server can now be changed. YouTube URLs can now be directly inserted, and a separate YouTube player "smtube" has been added, with a search, preview, and download interface. Many further improvements and several bugfixes have been made.


Release Notes: An occasional failure to find subtitles in opensubtitles.org was fixed. Selection of the left or right audio channel was fixed. ALSA is no longer the default audio driver on Linux, to avoid freezes on Ubuntu. The ability to mark an A-B section for partial playback was implemented. The video resolution and frames per second can now be displayed in the status bar. Support for VDPAU on Linux was improved.
