DBdiff (configsave) was modified to skip mounted partitions (or Samba shares), and tohd, fromhd, and server boot options were added. gpart, a tool for guessing PC-type hard disk partitions was included. Network services are no longer started automatically at bootup due to security issues, and a simple firewall is activated to disallow all incoming connections. Modules were added for Czech, Polish, Brazillian, Italian, French, and German.
Release Notes: This release added smb4k (a Samba share browser for KDE), better font and sound handling in KDE, kernel 2.4.26, Netscape plugins 7.1, and parted. X can now handle three mice in parallel. The eject boot parameter was fixed along with the create_bootdisk.sh script (lilo no longer stores MBR backups). memtest and ide-scsi module loading were also fixed.
Release Notes: This release added Xfree 4.4.0, KDE 3.2.1, floppy tools, K3B 0.11.9, and an 845patch boot option for Intel's i845G chipset. The lang= functionality was removed and a load=... boot option that loads all specified modules from the /optional/ directory (eg. load=wine,xmms,lang_fr) was implemented. smbmount was fixed, as were FTP upload directory permissions.
Release Notes: In this release, kernel 2.4.25 with alsa 1.0.2c was added, along with KDE 3.2 stable, a script to copy and install SLAX to flashdisk or hard disk, a ./tools/moduse script to use module in Live filesystem on the fly, a tools/modinsert script to insert downloaded modules to LiveCD ISO, a fileswap script to create a temporary file on the disk and use it as swap, and CUPS printing.
Release Notes: SLAX is now based on version 3.0.25 of the linux live scripts. This version features KDE 3.2beta2 and KOffice 1.3rc2, and uses overlay filesystem (ovlfs) to make the CD and the whole root filesystem pseudo-writable. More enhancements: Floppy automounting was added. KDE language support was added for Czech (cs), German (de), Brazilian (pt_BR), and French (fr). HorizSync was modified in the X config file in an attempt to get a better display. Mouse detection was enhanced. The monkeyd httpd server was added with its home in /root/public/www. The "nopcmcia" kernel parameter was added.
