Simplebackup is a cross-platform backup program. It reads a configuration file, then it builds a compressed file for each of your backup directories or files on your backup list, and places the compressed files into another location. For example, this location can be a network mapped drive in Windows, an NFS mounted drive in Unix, another hard disk, an FTP server, an SFTP (Secure FTP) server, an HTTP (WebDAV) server, one or more email accounts, or a tape device (Unix only). This will duplicate your information, doing the so called "backup".

Release Notes: This release fixes two bugs in the algorithm that builds the restoration list, a restoration problem, a problem which caused simplebackup to be paused (forever) during restoration if the restored files already existed (this only occurred with the rar and 7z formats), and a bug related to sftp (secure ftp) support on Unix systems that was preventing it from working.
Release Notes: This release adds backup and restore support for SFTP (secure FTP / SSH2) and HTTP DAV. Full restore restructuration, resulting in a huge improvement of the restore system. Real synchronization mechanisms across different servers can now be created, even across different operating systems. Everything about the backups and restores is now stored in a single location in the support database file. There is a vast number of small improvements, several bugfixes, and new command line arguments. Previous backup configuration files remain compatible.
Release Notes: A bug was fixed in the HTTP DAV and FTP backup support. Two links in the HTML documentation were fixed.
Release Notes: Support was added for backup and restores in SFTP (Secure FTP) and HTTP (WebDAV). A major restore improvement was done. A large number of small improvements and enhancements were made. Several bugs were fixed. The documentation was improved.
Release Notes: Several small problems where simplebackup was reporting a backup failure but not reporting what failed were fixed. A major text revision of the configuration files was done. The management file is not automatically removed if working in full backup mode.
