Release Notes: This release features a new and improved Encapsulated PostScript and PostScript importer. Multi-colored gradients were implemented along with Free Linear and Free Radial Gradients. All known crash bugs were fixed.
Release Notes: This version adds first basic support for tables which can be grouped, rotated, and can store text or images in a frame, user-defined locations for image editing and for the Ghostscript executable, tooltips for the Preferences and Properties palette, as well as other areas of the GUI, and improvements to the PDF export settings so that the compression method for images can now be set. Zip and JPEG compression is available. Images are now written only once into the PDF.
Release Notes: This will be the last development release before the next stable release of Scribus 1.2. Most of this release has been focused on code optimizations and polishing new features added in recent releases. Among the notable additions are multiple color sets (4 currently available); drop caps capability; a multiple column feature for text frames; tab support with left, right, centered, full stop, and comma tabulators; and search and replace functions for text frames. The translations for Finnish, Czech, Danish, Ukrainian, Polish, Russian, and British were updated.

The context-sensitive right-click menu was updated. The information on images and text frames was updated. Importing of templates and styles was added. Various pre-drawn shapes were added to the shape drawing tool and within frames. Grouped items may now be rotated. Sample scripts from Henning Schroeder and Yves Ceccone were added. Lots of minor bugfixes were made, and stability was increased.
Release Notes: This release includes a built-in story editor with facilities to create, edit, and apply paragraph styles on the fly. You can also edit text set to a path, as well as multiple linked text frames. Web links were added to the PDF export. Support was added for Python 2.3 in the scripting plug-in. The preview in the Insert Special Character palette was improved. The maximum line width was increased to 36 points. The Hyphenator was improved. Font sizes can be specified by 10ths of a point. Many bugfixes and refinements were made to TIFF handling, gradient colors, text frames, and text handling.
Release Notes: The contents of the Outline Palette no longer collapse when you are editing Objects or adding or removing Pages. Filenames with spaces are now handled correctly. A patch for big endian systems is included. Using symlinks for fonts works now. The Scripter Plugin is included in the main package.
Release Notes: This version features a completely new font discovery mechanism. It no longer relies on Qt for fonts, but gets all the font info directly via freetype. It now also fully supports Open Type fonts. All glyphs are accessible including expert sets, true small capitals, old style figures, and enhanced ligatures. All fonts can be selectively sub-set, reducing file size up to 70% on text heavy PDFs. The Measurements panel has been renamed to the Properties Palette to reflect its true usage. A Catalan Hyphenation dictionary was also added.
