Scilla answers media file requests and takes conversion parameters for various media converters. Manipulated media files can be cached for future requests. Scilla is designed to take requests using the servlet API. A HttpServlet is included, and it maps path-info to a file and passes request parameters to converters.

    Release Notes: A semaphore leak has been plugged. Infinite loops caused by corrupt JPEGs have been stopped. Read timeouts have been implemented.

      Release Notes: The example apllications have been ported to JSTL. More tags were added to the tag-library to make it possible to make scriptlet-less example JSP pages. The configuration has been simplified by using env-entries. A file descriptor leak was plugged and JPEGs with comments are now handled.

        Release Notes: Ogg Vorbis support has been added and a bourne-shell script for converting MP3 to Ogg is included. A info package now handles the retrieval of media meta-data like audio clip title/length and image width/height. A start has been made on implementing taglibs for handling images.

          Release Notes: The servlet handles ranges now, for audio/video stream seeking. id3v2 support for MP3 audio has been added. A simple installer, using an executable jar file which generates a war file, has been added. Some example enhancements have been made.
