Version 1.8.4 of System Configuration Collector

Release Notes: The broken NetBSD install has been corrected. There are native install formats for DragonFlyBSD, ArchLinux, and ttylinux. The code has been extended to avoid changes for interfaces with DHCP on several Linux distributions. Many configuration files have been added to the collectors.

Release Notes: Many corrections and enhancements have been implemented in the collector modules. The produced HTML has been checked against Total Validator and has been corrected. The version schema of the rpm and deb packages has been changed to correctly use the release part of the version. The rpm spec file has been changed to accommodate rpmlint, and a specific Fedora spec file has been added. Long option names have been implemented for additional clarity. Scientific Linux, Boston University Linux, ConnochaetOS, and Paldo are now recognized. Several modifications had to be made to run SCC on LPS.

Release Notes: A new system module stores the owner and permissions of all files that are inspected by scc. The production of HTML versions of the snapshot and the logbook are now also possible on systems using the busybox version of sort. Several corrections have been made to avoid frequent changes in the logbook. Many modules have been extended to collect additional configuration data.

Release Notes: Optional use of context diff of changes in the logbook is available. The collection of data for device mapper and multipathing has been extended. The determination of Oracle SID's has been corrected to avoid error messages. SCC can now run in user mode without root permissions, at the price of collecting less data. Several modules have been extended. The relocate and source install scripts have been corrected to avoid errors when common bin, data, and conf directories are used.

    Release Notes: The determination of Oracle instances has been improved. The collected data for Oracle has been extended. Configuration data from the Proliant Support Pack has been added. The production of the software packages has been made more flexible. The collection of data has been extended for several hardware and software management areas. Several minor errors are corrected.
