RSS Viewer is a Java-based ticker application. It uses JAXP to parse RSS-sites (RDF site summary). It is easy to use and easy to configure. It has 2 different views: a browser-like view with graphics and search-boxes, and a simple ticker-view which saves place on your desktop.

    Release Notes: Many RFEs and fixes have been implemented. New features include a persistant article database, a context-sensitive HTML view for RSS articles, and I18N support. Some eye candy has been added.

      Release Notes: This version incorporates two patches, changes the configuration file to use XML, adds a remember option, color adjustment, a dialog-based proxy configuration, and a status bar, and fixes a few annoyances.

        Release Notes: Browser settings have been improved. Bug #579648 (protocol fix in the URL class) has been fixed. You can now specify a channel on the command line ("exclusive mode").

          Release Notes: Some bugs have been fixed inside the save-settings method. Another strange behavior when clicking inside the channel list has been fixed. Double-clicking on list items will pop-up the modify dialog now. It's possible to make rssview beep on new messages. The sources tree has been restructured.

            Release Notes: The strange behavior while right-clicking in the channel-list has been fixed. Drag and drop/copy and paste of channel URLs is supported now. There are channel poll times fixes, the application icon has been made transparent, copying URLs to the clipboard works now, browser setup has been fixed, and the strange behavior when clicking on links has been fixed.
