RIPE Whois Server

The RIPE Whois server uses a backend SQL database to allow support for very large repositories. There is support for IPv6 records and lookups. Both RPSL and RIPE181 are supported.

RIPE no longer uses version control or Bugzilla for their software releases. The webpage for the RIPE WhoIs server has also been discontinued.

Release Notes: Numerous bugfixes and enhancements.

Release Notes: LIMERICK records have been upgraded to a more generic POEM type. ORGANIZATION records have been added. Reverse DNS registry checking has been added. A Perl RPSL library has been added. dbupdate is now aware of X.509. The build code is now fully based on autoconf/automake. RPSL variant support can be selected at build time.

Release Notes: Major code cleanups, rewrites, and redesigns were done. The ability to restrict the number of queries from a given IP address is included.
