Renamer

Renamer is a tool that makes it easy to rename any number of files on any filesystem without knowing anything about shell scripting or regular expressions (regexp). It is able to change the case of filenames, remove spaces, rename using a base name followed by a number, change extensions, and a lot more.

    Release Notes: The packaging system was moved from tar/makefile to Gem. The code was cleaned up and changed from procedural to OO. New features were added and various bugs were fixed. A recursive mode was added, unit tests were included, and strings were localized using Ruby-GetText. A French translation was provided.

      Release Notes: Renaming a file on that you don't have write access no longer crashes the program. Error messages are now redirected to stderr. A function for renaming file extensions was added (renamer -e *.html *.php) . An issue that occurred when the user doesn't give any options on the command line was fixed.
