recorder.xhead is a voice recording application that can save sounds in .mp3, .mp4, .aif, .avi, .mov, or .wav format. Users can create a playlist of recorded sound, search it iTunes-style, and even export it to iTunes so that they can take voice memos on the road on an iPod. It plays audio streams, and comes with a bulk file conversion utility to convert between file formats.

Release Notes: This version contains an updated user interface and includes new features such as RSS podcast file support, an input volume meter, volume and pitch controls, VOX automated recording based on input volume level, RecordGuard to prevent data loss, and basic FTP support.

It also includes the ability to pause recordings, support for hours of recording in the display, improved song title scrolling, allows only the stop button to actually stop a recording, the ability to play audio streams, and corrections to incorrect calculations of MP3 variable bit rate files have been made to display correct durations.
Release Notes: MPEG4 (.mp4) support has been added so you can save your voice memos in mp4 format. File saving also now supports the standard QuickTime file saving dialog panel, allowing you to specify all attributes of the saved file, including compression, sample rate, and much more. The itunes-style playlist searching has been greatly optimized to provide blazing performance even with thousands of entries in the playlist. Playlist sorting has also been added so you can now sort the playlist by clicking on the table column header. The conversion of files to .mp3 format has been relocated to the Utilities Menu.
