Qsubst does search and replace, editing in place the files specified on the command line. For each occurrence of the search string it prints some context and prompts the user for whether to replace it, similar to Emacs's query-replace-string.

The author mailed me to say he is still around, though without a web site, and mail to him will get the latest upstream (not NetBSD) version.

How to build
I chose the NetBSD version of this program as the download link since they seem to be the only people maintaining it. To compile it on Linux (RedHat 7.1) use the command:
pmake CFLAGS=-DTCSASOFT=0
A script that helps find, navigate, and open files under Linux/Mac OS.
