Qastrocam-g2

Qastrocam-g2 is a fork of the Qastrocam project, Webcam capture software for astronomy. This fork adds support for RGB24 (luminance only) and YUYV. It has better generic V4L support (lx mode and resizing). Settings backup has been added. There is better parallel and serial lx mode support. There are a number of other changes and additions.

AMD64 debian binary package available 22 Jan 2010

We already provided a source tarball and an i386 debian binary package. An AMD64 debian binary package is now also available.

Release Notes: With this version, Philips cameras are partially supported on kernel 3. QHY5 cameras are better supported. Guiding has been improved. Many GUI tweaks and bugs have been fixed.

Release Notes: This release adds many features, like frame calibration (bias, dark, flat), night vision mode, QHY5 camera support, new de-mosaic (de-bayer) methods, calibration reference frames generations (average and median), support for many new devices, GUI and speed optmizations, and many bug fixes.

Release Notes: This release adds supports for JPEG cameras. Basic support for V4L(1) cameras is back. Settings are now present in the GUI. The long exposure frame detection has been rewritten. Color space conversions now use double precision floats. Lossless videos are recorded using the huffyuv codec. Many small enhancements and bugfixes were made.

Release Notes: The native frame format has been changed from yuv 4:2:0 to yuv 4:4:4 for better colors. The debayer filter now applies on all the output formats. The AVI output format was changed from yuv 4:2:0 to raw RGB 24-bit and raw Grey 8-bit. Many memory bugs and leaks have been fixed. RGB 24 webcams are now fully supported. The video input can now be resized using 3 tools: scaling (hardware), cropping (hardware and software), and binning (software). CCVT isn't used anymore.

Release Notes: All features now use V4L2 instead of V4L. The Debian package has been modified to avoid conflicts with Qastrocam. There is better frame selection for generic LX mode. The settings file name can be forced, so this release may use multiple instances of qastrocam-g2 at the same time (guiding + capture). There are many bugfixes and some code optimizations.
