Q3Master

Q3Master is a standalone master server for Quake3Arena (and derived games, like RTCW). It is intended for local networks without Internet connections (or firewalls which block Q3A). It can also be used for larger private networks on which more than one Q3A server exists. Q3Master can also be used to query servers in a local subnet, using broadcasts. The found servers can then be sent to another (or a central) master server to collect data from multiple subnets.

    Release Notes: More documentation has been provided, especially for configuration, usage, and protocol definition. A load test suite has been added, leading to some performance improvements. The UDP proxy used for protocol debugging has been added.

      Release Notes: Q3Master now supports all known versions of Q3A, Q3A:TA, RTCW, and RTCW:ET (protocol versions 43-83). New protocol / game versions can be added without changing the source. Full documentation of the master server protocol has been added.

        Release Notes: Support for ad-hoc server queries was added. When the "run_query" command is used, it looks for servers in all configured networks and reports all it can find.

          Release Notes: Support for protocol version 67 (point release 1.31), code restructuring, and basic tests with RTCW were added.

            Release Notes: Q3Master now sends multiple answers (servers) within a single packet. There is an additional wait between the packets. This should fix the problem with GameSpy not showing all servers. A deployment bug has been fixed.
