Release Notes: A major SNAPSHOT expiration problem was fixed. A major "too many open files" problem was fixed. GZIPped stream recognition in httpRemotePeer was fixed. A GroupMapping feature was added to Proximity core. Stats are working and were extended. The event mechanism is finished. Some Velocity problems with null elems in context were fixed. "Fine grain" version searches were enabled. CommonsNetFTP remote peer was fixed. Quartz and job support (reindexJob) were added. ReindexAtStartup now defaults to "false". The dev.java.net repository was added to defaults. Generally, dependencies were updated to the latest releases.
Release Notes: The WebDAV interface was fixed, which now enables deployment from Maven2. Other major fixes were made regarding maven2-repository.dev.java.net repository support, a snapshot update problem, the use of server MIME-types, and a problem where GZIP content encoding is requested from the remote peer but not handled. Furthermore, some minor code problems and 1.4.2 platform incompatibilies were fixed.
Release Notes: Indexer initialization has been refactored and fixed. Life cycles of Indexer and Proximity beans are now cleaner. Various Maven-related problems are fixed: metadata merging and HTTP LastModified header are used properly. MIME Content type is now set by using JAF javax.activation.MimetypesFileTypeMap.
Release Notes: There are a lot of bugfixes and major refactoring. The flawed indexer is now completely separate from Proximity bean, which serves the essentials only (aggregation). The Repositories are are simplified (request serving). They are both Indexer-agnostic now. New features, such as accessing password-protected remote repositories, have been implemented.
Release Notes: A blocker issue is fixed that caused an issue with the new neg-cache implementation introduced in RC5 (no new artifacts were downloaded from Proximity). Some searching and search page Velocity templates have been fixed.
Release Notes: New features: negative caching and collecting HTTP request attributes for "deeper" processing. Several major bugfixes have been made: WAR reloading on Apache Tomcat, expiration metadata loss, NPE on reposes without local storages, and several Velocity template related issues. Dependencies have been upgraded to the latest stable versions (like Springframework 2.0, SLF4j, etc.).
Release Notes: This is actually a "reconfiguration" bugfix, since the two snapshot repositories were molded with official stable ones. This release actually moved the two snapshot repositories out of the public group. RC4.1 is binary identical with RC4.2 except for configuration.
Release Notes: The RC4 broken path handling has been fixed; it affected Piping. The source tree has been cleaned, using a "base" WAR to create the actual "flavours". Proximity now comes as WAR in four "flavours": default, demosite, pxmaster, and pxslave.
Release Notes: Three major improvements were made. The aggregated metadata checksum is correctly calculated. "emergeGroups" enables proper selective repository aggregation. WS interface publishing was implemented using XFire. The J2EE webapp modules are "exploded", meaning that they now come in different flavors: "default", "demosite", "minimal", and for Proximity chaining ("PxMaster" and "PxSlave").
Release Notes: A major refactoring of Px Core was undertaken, removing and greatly simplifying it. Lucene was upgraded from 1.4.3 to 2.0. This release has number of enhancements and a new extension point (ItemPropertiesConstructor appeared) that empowers existing plain LuceneIndexer and "metadata" capabilities was added. New features include "Artifact browsing" (browsing in Maven2 "namespace"), links to project homes, and links to file origins (in case of proxied files).
