    Release Notes: A new 'enable-session' option was added, allowing for session accounting via PAM or wtwp/wtmpx. The PPP over L2TP plugin is now included. Interoperability with the strange behavior of some 3G modems.was improved. Under Linux, pppd can now operate in a mode where it doesn't request the peer's IP address. Options files can now set and unset environment variables for scripts. The timeout for chat scripts can now be taken from an environment variable. Other enhancements were made. Many bugs were fixed.

        Release Notes: This version features support for MS-CHAP 2 authentication, plus support for authenticating the peer with MS-CHAP 1 or 2, MPPE, CBCP updates, EAP, PPPOE, a password-via-pipe plugin, Solaris updates, ECB, Radius plugin code, extra hooks for plugins, a maxoctets option, ipcp-no-addresses and ipcp-no-address options, remotenumber and allow-number options, and several bugfixes, including potential buffer overflows in chat.

          Release Notes: New options 'dump' and 'dryrun' for printing of active options. Option parsing code fixed, it now only loads plugins built for same version. Work around for a bug in zlib. PPP should now compile on Solaris and SunOS again. MTU is now working correctly again for on demand dialed interfaces.

                Release Notes: Due to lack of changelog, it is only assumed that these bugfixes and updates will work with the latest 2.3 kernels.

                  Release Notes: pppd now supports shared-library plugins, there's an updated port for 64 bit machines running Solaris 7 and later, there's an 'allow-ip' option to set ips that peers can use without authentication, chat can now substitute environmental variables with the -E option, Linux compilation glitches have been fixed, and complete IPV6 support has been added (fixed from 2.3.9).
