Power Acpid is an ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface) daemon that improves upon the design of the current acpid.

Release Notes: This release reads events from the /proc/acpi/events file and formats them to be used with handlers. The handlers are not yet written, but the framework is in place.
Release Notes: In this version, the framework watches the ACPI system in the Linux kernel for events, but does not take any action. Unix socket support was implemented for use with user applets and other system utilities.
