Release Notes: Backwards compatibility for empty right-hand sides in SMTPD access maps and the permit_mx_backup UCE feature no longer forwards source-routed addresses. This closes a mail relaying loophole. Documentation has been updated accordingly.
Release Notes: The SMTP server no longer forwards mail from untrusted clients with sender-specified routing (stuff[@%!]stuff[@%!]stuff) to destinations that are authorized by the relay_domains parameter. The data structure and protocol of the trivial-rewrite service was changed, and an address from an untrusted client with @ in the localpart (user@remote@here) no longer bounces with "user unknown" but instead is rejected with "relay access denied". In addition to this, examples and documentation were adjusted for the change, and a small fix was made to the INSTALL.sh script.
Release Notes: Rejection of unknown local or virtual users at the SMTP port has been further streamlined, it is now much more difficult to configure Postfix as an open relay, the FAQ (html/faq.html) has been overhauled with many more examples, the UCE documentation (html/uce.html) has been updated with more examples, more UCE configuration examples are provided in the sample configuration files, and several little improvements have been made to the installation procedure.
Release Notes: A bugfix for the strict RFC821 envelope address check, permit_recipient_maps is gone, an empty inet_interfaces parameter (needed for a true null client), "disable_vrfy_command = yes" disables some forms of address harvesting used by spammers, an alias map parameter definition to the smtpd code, the SMTP server rejects mail for unknown users in virtual and local domains, and the sendmail -f option now understands '<user>' and even understands address forms with RFC 822-style comments.
Release Notes: This version includes (among others) the patches that were part of today's Postfix 19990906 Patch 09. New features since the 19991126 snapshot include updated LDAP client code , updated mysql client code, and a new "qmgr_fudge_factor" parameter that allows you to balance mailing list performance against response time for one-to-one mail.
Release Notes: Fixes for address-rewriting and .forward delivery issues, and Postfix now attempts to deliver all addresses in the expansion of an alias or .forward file, even when some addresses must be deferred.
Release Notes: Fixed mis-parsing of atoms beginning with \, the LDAP client did not properly escape special characters in lookup keys, INSTALL.sh would bail out on systems with short (non-FQDN) hostnames when doing a fresh install, and INSTALL.sh copied the permissions and ownership attributes from the Postfix source tree instead of forcing owner root and mode 0644 when installing the manual pages.
Release Notes: Fixes for a few minor glitches using a fresh install of Postfix 19990906 Patchlevel 06.
Release Notes: This is a no-features update. It includes all fixes and workarounds since postfix-19990906-pl05.
Release Notes: Bug fixes.
