Plgen

Plgen (Playlist Generator) is a tool that sorts files for MP3 players in a user defined order. Cheap MP3 players often come with no playlist capabilities. In addition these players often make use of the FAT16/32 file system, leading to confusion when the playing order is not alphabetical on the device even though it is shown as alphabetical in the file explorer.

A bug in version 1.6 renders the program non-functional. Please stay with version 1.4 or wait for 1.8 (coming soon!)

Release Notes: This release brings shuffle functionality to the GUI version. In addition, it fixes a bug that forced users to mount their devices on "/mnt/player". Users should choose the tar-gz files over deb packages, as deb packages are considered flawed. Feedback is highly appreciated.

Release Notes: This release fixes the bug introduced in version 1.6 and adds an additional GUI supporting drag-and-drop for a better user experience.

    Release Notes: The codebase has been ported from Python 2.6 to Python 3.2 (it should work with 3.0, too, but has not been tested). Version 1.6 is exclusively targeted towards the Linux community.

    Release Notes: This release introduces the shuffle command. All files can now be rearranged in random order.

    Release Notes: This release provides new functionality. Users can now move files in bulk. Documentation has been improved. For developers, it is now easier to add test cases for classes that provide new commands. This release can be downloaded as bundled Python modules or as a Debian DEB package.
