plextor-tool allows owners of Plextor CD-ROM or generally MMC-compatible CD-R(W) drives (including that of Plextor) to change various properties. These include the reading speed (to "silence" the drive), the time until the drive spins down, the volume of the internal audio out, and some special settings for Plextor CD-ROM devices.

Release Notes: Added a volume control for the internal audio output, which works on Plextor drives but possibly not on Yamahas. Makefiles for binary installs are now provided, a problem with command line handling was fixed (a segmentation fault when giving parameters after options without a space, or no option at all), an applet bug that prevented correct error handling was fixed, and the man page was updated (the explanation of the -a option was wrong).
