PlanetScape

PlanetScape simulates navigation on planets or a moon surface. It takes color-coded elevation data from an image and renders the planet's surface in 3D or Stereo.

    Release Notes: The surface resolution of Mars has increased 2x. The ZBuf part of the software has been cleaned up. Stereo images of the surface are generated in color.

        Release Notes: This release works with Java 1.4, 1.5, and 1.6. The surface resolution of Mars has increased 2x. Some new data is included and errors removed. A new method for stereo generation is now used.

          Release Notes: This release completely supports the Moon and Mars. The elevation data is now the data measured by the spacecraft and not that taken from the color-coded picture. It's now possible to make an elevation plot along a line on the map chosen by the mouse.

            Release Notes: You can navigate by name of the feature on the moon, Mars or Venus. Thus, it can be used as lunar observation software (it has ~2000 lunar or Mars features). The user can choose the images for globe generation and its resolution or add his/her images.
